Synopsis:

Forced by his stepmother to enter a ghost marriage, Lin Pei has no choice but to run away and seek refuge with his aunt.

His aunt is very kind, and his cousin Yuan Ge'er treats him well too.

Yuan Ge'er says, "Make yourself at home. Everyone in our village is easy to get along with, but there's one person you absolutely mustn't provoke: Li Wenxuan! He's the village bully, and he beats up little brothers just the same as anyone else."

Lin Pei has already run into Li Wenxuan once. His knees shake, and whenever he spots Li Wenxuan on the road, he takes a long detour, afraid the village bully will give him a beating.

Li Wenxuan has taken a liking to the new little brother in the village, and as it happens, that little brother fell for him at first sight. So, when should he go ask for his hand? Better ask Pei Ge'er.

But... why does Pei Ge'er keep running away?

There's a limit to how shy a person can be. They need to discuss the proposal together! Li Wenxuan takes off after him.

And so, one runs while the other chases.

At last, one day, Li Wenxuan catches Lin Pei. "So... would you marry me and be my husband?"

Still shaken and trembling all over, Lin Pei is so startled he forgets to close his mouth.

Huh? The village bully doesn't want to beat him up. He wants to marry him?

Seeing Lin Pei frozen with happiness, Li Wenxuan pulls out a silver bracelet and slips it on his wrist with a grin. "Hehe, I'll go ask your aunt for your hand tomorrow."

Everyone thinks Lin Pei married Li Wenxuan because he was intimidated by his brutish ways. With Li Wenxuan's temperament, Lin Pei is bound to get beaten after the wedding. Who knows how long he'll survive?

No one expects that after they marry, Lin Pei only has to tell Li Wenxuan to go east, and he would never go west. Gradually, Li Wenxuan becomes famous far and wide as a doting husband.

Little scene

Lin Pei: He's looking at me. He must be about to hit me.

Li Wenxuan: He's sneaking a glance at me. He really does like me.

Lin Pei: Not only does he hold a grudge against me, he's even giving me a warning!

Li Wenxuan: He really is a little brother. He's already getting shy? What will happen on our wedding night? Will he die of embarrassment?
