Why Am I So Rich?

Ruan Sheng is a B-list nobody in the entertainment industry, the kind of person no one notices no matter how hard she tries.

She once heard that money could change your fate in showbiz, but unfortunately, she had none.

Then one day, she got a Super Idol System.

Ruan Sheng assumed the System was here to help her work hard and become a top-tier star.

But when she checked her daily System missions, all they asked her to do was spend money?

Ruan Sheng: "..."

What happened to the Super Idol System?

Ruan Sheng glanced at the punishments for failing the System's many spending missions. After two seconds of silence, she decided she might as well spend the money.

Ahem, mainly because the failure penalties sounded so good:

· An acting course in the System's virtual space

· A full-location film production simulation

· World-class camera presence training

· One-on-one lessons with an international supermodel

The System's missions were ridiculous, but faced with those rewards, Ruan Sheng's overachiever instincts kicked in.

And so:

· While others looked at her as if she were an idiot, Ruan Sheng invested in an expensive art film that was obviously going to lose money.

· While others looked at her as if she'd slept her way to the top, Ruan Sheng made a talentless actor the star of a blockbuster.

· While others looked at her as if they were thinking, "This fool's loaded, let's get her money," Ruan Sheng mercilessly poured cash into a no-budget variety show...

Ruan Sheng spent money and worked hard to complete the missions, thinking she'd fail and get to enjoy the System's "failure penalties," essentially scoring all kinds of advanced System features for free. But in reality:

[Congratulations! Your discerning eye has led you to complete the mission.]

[You have received a cash reward of 50 million.]

Ruan Sheng: "...I'm tired. Really."

Even much later, Ruan Sheng still couldn't figure out how she'd become so rich.
