The 90s: My Mom Is a Culinary God

After winning the Triple Realm's top cooking award for three years in a row, Lin Yuemei woke up to find herself the cannon-fodder first wife in a novel set in the past.

Her husband had been sent abroad on a government assignment and hadn't been heard from. Her in-laws took over the house and made her serve the whole family, while her sister-in-law from her own family kicked her out.

Lin Yuemei picked up her three-and-a-half-year-old son, rented a small roadside shop, and opened a little restaurant.

Crispy pork belly, fragrant and golden; spicy chicken, hot and savory; soy-braised pig's trotters, tender and silky; lamb soup whose aroma carried for miles.

Before long, the little restaurant outside the residential compound was famous.

A picky kid refuses to eat and throws a tantrum? One meal will fix that!

A rebellious teenager is so obsessed with video games he won't eat or drink? One meal will set him straight!

A young factory worker is slacking off and has a bad attitude? One meal out, and all her problems are solved!

Lin Yuemei ran her restaurant, cooked delicious food, made money, and raised her son, busier and happier than ever.

She thought she would be perfectly content if life went on like this. Then one day, a handsome man in military uniform suddenly showed up at her door.

"Yuemei, why are people saying you told them I died overseas?"

Her round-cheeked son saw the strange man, charged him, and slammed into his crotch.

"Bad man! Don't bully my mom!"

When Lin Yuemei saw the man who had come back from the dead, her face went white.

"Son, stop hitting him! That's your dad!"
