In the final years of the War of Resistance Against Japan, bandits plagued the Lianyun Mountains. Gu Xichao, an officer in the Nationalist Army, was ordered to go there and suppress them, and so he met Qi Shaoshang, chief of the Lianyun Stronghold. The two shared the same ideals, and Gu Xichao joined Qi Shaoshang, helping him fight the Japanese while waiting for an opportunity to suppress the bandits...
This story is planned in four volumes, covering four periods: the War of Resistance Against Japan, the War of Liberation, the □□ period, and the early 21st century.
The main title and volume titles pay tribute to several writers and works I admire. Some parts also allude to classics in contemporary literature. If you're interested, see if you can guess them.
Since fanfiction is restricted in how certain scenes can be handled, Volume Four will only be available in an abridged (sanitized?) version. I currently plan to adapt the original into an original danmei story, which will be published under the same title. Stay tuned
