A Physician in Troubled Times: Enriching the People Through Medicine

New novel: The Doctor of Troubled Times: Enriching the People Through Medicine

Ji Qing, a medical PhD, is forced to transmigrate into the body of a princess whose kingdom has fallen. To stay alive, she hides in the Ding Palace as a servant, beginning a life unlike her previous one, when she studied, saved lives, and conducted experiments.

After a palace coup, she leaves the Ding Palace. She improves the art of refining cinnabar, explores, studies new skills, invents explosives and health-boosting tea, helps Prince Ding seize power, and helps her senior apprentice brother take the throne. Just when life is going her way, someone plots against her. The two who once loved each other end up drawing blades on one another. In the end, misfortune turns to good fortune, and she finds the right man. She had hoped to spend her life happily with just one person, but when he dies, she becomes a widow once more.

Life as a widow is hard, so she decides to do things her own way. Ji Qing finds that the more boldly she lives, the better things get. She uses medicine to care for the people, and the people in turn protect medicine. She becomes the richest person in the realm, the emperor becomes her number-one fan, and the senior apprentice brother who once drew his blade against her is willing to give up his empire for her.

The emperor falls gravely ill, and chaos once again engulfs the realm. The protective shield she raised over her own corner of the world is on the verge of collapsing...
