Su Zhi fell silent for a moment.

He leaned over her, restraining her slender, snow-white hands and feet, and smiled. "I don't believe you."

His icy lips touched the side of the girl's neck. Ignoring her struggles, he left a conspicuous red mark against her pale skin.

When he had her cornered, Su Zhi lifted his head slightly and saw her unfocused, dazed eyes, their pupils glistening with tears.

His breathing was uneven, but he smiled mockingly. "...Liar."

Note: A melodramatic, sweet romance, with the plot in service of the relationship. Set in an imaginary cultivation world, with plenty of original worldbuilding.

The heroine never formally marries the Demon Lord. The male lead is one of the adopted sons the Demon Lord casually took in, and there is no relationship that violates ethical or moral boundaries.
