Kageyama Is Always Warmhearted Toward Others

*His name is Kageyama Tobio, a prodigiously gifted setter. At nineteen, he became a starting player on the Japan national team. In an international tournament, his serves earned five straight points against France. At home, he was hailed as one of "The Generation of Monsters."

I want to tell the story of who he was before his name became known around the world.

*I smiled with my eyes narrowed and said, "So I guess if we hadn't met that day, someone as warmhearted as you, Kageyama, would have run into me next time, and the time after that, and the time after that, too."

"Would I?"

"Of course. You have to believe in cause and effect, and in fate."
