A male colleague who didn't know the whole story patted her shoulder and comforted her.

Feng Yue nodded, showing she understood.

From the window behind them, it looked as if the two were embracing.

That night, she returned home exhausted.

The motion-activated lights came on one by one as she walked, and she saw Fu Jinshi standing outside her door.

Feng Yue thought he'd come to demand an explanation, but as she approached, her gaze unexpectedly met his slightly reddened eyes. He stared at her without blinking and grabbed her wrist with a firm grip. "What about now?"

"Am I good enough to marry you now?"

She always thought Fu Jinshi had married her to get revenge for the way she'd dumped him back then.

Until one night, while they were giving each other the silent treatment, she was quietly packing her things and accidentally found a dusty box.

Inside was a thick stack of plane tickets.
