Text Investigator

[On hiatus for now. I'll announce in advance when I resume updating.]

[I've changed some parts later on, so the beginning and later chapters may not line up. I've forgotten which chapters, so I'll revise them all together and update the chapters when the time comes.]

In tabletop role-playing modules, everyone is an investigator. They roll dice to determine the outcome of events and travel through the modules investigating the truth, earning stat-boosting rewards along the way.

Qidiao Tan was one such investigator, except she was very good at making trouble for her fellow players.

Her character sheets were thrown together, her actions were impulsive, and she loved watching the drama unfold, but she always got top marks on her missions. Such a perfect investigator, and yet she was constantly getting written up. She was sure to become a legendary investigator of the future.

Only, after playing through a few modules, she'd start hearing dogs barking.

They were her dogs: her fellow players on the forum.

Ignore them. The betrayal by her teammates was fake. The real twist was that she was the undercover agent.

PS:

1. The tabletop role-playing module setting is my own.

2. This is an ensemble story with a strong focus on the cast, and everyone has their own growth arc. Of course, the protagonist will always be leading the way!

3. The romantic pairing takes up a lot of space, with the plot and romance intertwined.

4. I'm a novice author, so a lot of my writing may not be great. Please be gentle in the comments OUO
