Lu Yuan Vs. Han Xin

Lu Yuan x Han Xin, mutual redemption. You are the only springtime in my barren life.

As a princess, Lu Yuan is married to a man old enough to be her father. She puts up with his many concubines and countless children, asking only that her father, the emperor, remember the merit of her political marriage and treat her mother and weak younger brother well, and that her younger brother remember how much she endured and become a wise ruler who honors their mother.

As she lies dying, she thinks that after all she's done, surely her mother and younger brother are living well...

Then she sees Ying'er estranged from their mother and close to their enemy, drinking and carousing until he brings about his own death, leaving their mother alone to face powerful ministers and the Xiongnu.

She sees their mother govern the country with great efficiency, only for her entire family to be killed after her death, and for another emperor to strip her of her empress title and ancestral rites a century later.

"..."

Damn it, yielding and swallowing her grievances can't save her family.

If her useless little brother can do it, so can I!

She returns to the day her scumbag father treated her like a bargaining chip to win over a military general.

She tears up the marriage contract and finds her scumbag father...

"Father, if you're trying to win over a general, why not recruit the most formidable one?"

"I choose Han Xin, the God of War."

"If he is invincible, he will become the Han Dynasty's consort."

"If his achievements threaten the throne, I'll remove that danger for you."
