How Can a Beautiful Partner Be Scarier Than a Ghost?

The Underworld was in turmoil, causing ghosts to roam the human world by night and paranormal events to crop up one after another.

To restore order to the human world, the Heavens developed a System designed to deal with ghosts and monsters. It descended upon selected humans, pairing them up into ghost-hunting teams responsible for clearing out supernatural creatures around the world.

Unfortunately, the System sounded reliable, but was actually a massive prehistoric pitfall.

Not only did it pair people up at random, it was practically useless in front of ghosts and monsters, apart from making sarcastic remarks.

Wei Xuan and Lan Xinghe, assigned by the Heavens to be partners, were more like sworn enemies than a team.

The first time Lan Xinghe saw Wei Xuan, the glamorous beauty was dead drunk and surrounded by admirers. Lan Xinghe had always hated playgirls, so her first impression of Wei Xuan sank straight to rock bottom.

Wei Xuan, meanwhile, thought her partner was cool and beautiful, with looks that were the best in the world, but her personality was fierce and cold. Wei Xuan hardly dared breathe around her and was endlessly miserable inside.

Unexpectedly, the pair's destinies were a perfect match, and they had astonishing talents. Gradually, they made names for themselves in the ghost-hunting world and became its hot new rising stars.

The ghost-hunting world marveled that Wei Xuan, who had strong yang energy but was afraid of ghosts, and Lan Xinghe, who had a fierce temper but could give Wei Xuan courage, were truly made for each other.

Only the System, which had watched them grow while they complained about it nonstop, shed tears of joy: Seeing its two Hosts go from bickering enemies to a married couple at the top of the ghost-hunting world was so moving.
