As a male witch, Kanai Hikaru spends his days tending his mushroom garden, brewing potions from mushrooms to make money, and using that money to build an even bigger, more luxurious pet park. Whenever visitors come to see it, they can’t help marveling at how comfortable it is and how lavishly it’s been built.
But he has a secret.
As a powerful witch who loves flying around on his broom at night and barging into other people’s dreams to play pranks, he has somehow reached adulthood without ever finding himself a pet!
Which means his pet park is actually empty!
If anyone found out, those jerks would surely surround him with their families and cats and laugh at him!
With the truth about to come out, he threw his belongings onto his broom and fled in the middle of the night. As he roamed the vast city of Tokyo, he accidentally collided with a black-faced kitty.
That collision landed squarely on the heart of a witch who’d been lonely for years.
Kanai Hikaru: I figured nobody wanted this cat, so I’m taking it home. (Delighted)
Rei Furuya, scooped up onto a broom and soaring freely through Tokyo’s night sky: ???
The four academy classmates, who had just gone out to buy something and watched their ace get scooped away: !!!
Kanai Hikaru: Be my cat. (Deeply affectionate)
Rei Furuya: ...Fine. (Swallowing his humiliation)
The four classmates: Zero/Rei/Blondie-sensei/Little Furuya, we’re here to save you!
Rei Furuya (with cat ears and tail) (watering mushrooms): Huh...?
His classmates: You two are taking this pretty far, aren’t you? Let go of that Siamese... Rei Furuya!
Cat Rei: Ah. (Socially mortified, closes his eyes) (Collapses peacefully among the mushrooms)
Kanai Hikaru: (Delighted) A Ragdoll, a Doberman, a Maine Coon, and a white fox. What other surprises are you hiding from me, Rei-chan?
