This story was written a year or two ago. Looking back at it now, I feel differently.
Maybe time has changed everything. I no longer have the confidence I had when I was young. I keep doubting the things I do, and the words that live on the pages I write.
But ten minutes ago, for the first time, I found my story through a search bar. It had been reposted, turned into an ebook download on some unknown website, or maybe someone liked my story enough to post it on a forum.
I was so incredibly moved. I never knew I could be so lucky, that people could like my writing so much.
I looked back through everyone's comments on Jinjiang.
For the first time, I truly felt that people might cry, smile, and be moved by the things I write.
If I could bow to you all in person and thank you, I would.
Because you made me realize that I, too, can be a writer whose work earns praise. Yes, a writer.
If I keep traveling farther down the path of writing, it will be because of each and every one of your comments and kind words.
