[Haikyuu!!] The Depressed Girl Can't Fall in Love

Everyone in Class 3 of Aoba Johsai's first year knew there was a girl in their class who spent every day slumped over her desk, sleeping. The only expression they ever caught a glimpse of was her drooping, rabbit-like eyes, and her whole being radiated an air of having given up on life. She was pretty cute, but nobody dared approach her. Rie Takeuchi didn't mind, though. Because when she was suffering for the 101st time from an unknown allergen, itching all over and throwing up and having diarrhea... When she stayed up all night gaming but still had to go to class the next day... When flu season rolled around and she was guaranteed to catch it... She had only one thought in her head every day. "I want to die." Then one day, she happened to pass by the boys' volleyball club. A friend pulled her inside to watch a match, and a volleyball came flying off the court and hit her in the head. Her thoughts shifted just a tiny bit. "I want to die, but I feel like someone else deserves to die more." At first, Tōru Oikawa only approached the girl he'd knocked unconscious to apologize. Somehow, though, he gradually started worrying about her state of mind. Tōru Oikawa: Xiao Hui, look! I got hurt, but I was still really brave today! So you shouldn't want to die either! Rie Takeuchi: Oikawa-senpai, you're amazing, but I don't think that has anything to do with me wanting to die. Hajime Iwaizumi: You trash-kawa, don't brag about getting hurt!
