[Naruto] A Bond That Ties Our Fates Together

Synopsis:

Sakura: Sasuke, about you and Naruto...

Sasuke: Shut up. Don't use your shallow understanding to define what we have with something as vulgar as love!

I only came back so that idiot could become Hokage. I didn't want to stand in the way of him achieving his dream.

In the end, he's a bond I can't sever.

(Sasuke's monologue: Naruto, do you know why I always call you an idiot? Because you really are a complete idiot. Even though I've asked you countless times why you're so stubborn about me, your answer is always, "Because I'm your friend." Maybe you know, but you choose to classify those feelings as friendship.)

(I'm not Kishimoto, so the characters are bound to be out of character. But I've been a Naruto fan for nearly twenty years, and always thought of Naruto and Sasuke as a bond between brothers. Then I saw a fan art and suddenly got it. It's 2023, surely I'm not the only one shipping Naruto and Sasuke? Sob.)

(This story picks up after Episode 698 of Shippuden.)
