[College Campus + Modern City] [Second Chances * Reunited After Years Apart]
Then: a cool, sensitive, obedient girl × an arrogant, cocky rich boy
Now: a goddess adored by homebodies and a host × an abstinent, calculating CEO
Back in college, Jiang Nanchen was famous around campus for his swagger. With a naturally handsome face, he won the hearts of countless girls.
No one thought he would ever fall in love, yet the evening he saw Xiang Wanli, he threw the basketball out of bounds twice.
That day, he stood in the middle of the court and called out lazily, "Hey, could you get the ball for me?"
Xiang Wanli frowned and glanced back at the court. Then she picked up the ball and tossed it back, straight through the hoop.
Later, beneath falling night cherry blossoms on the outdoor court, the two sat on the railing under the warm yellow lights. He asked her, "Don't you feel like something's missing?"
She asked, "What's missing?"
He said, "A boyfriend."
Later still, the night before Jiang Nanchen left to study abroad, he asked, "Xiang Wanli, will you come with me?"
Xiang Wanli lowered her head. Jiang Nanchen hid his tear-reddened eyes and left without looking back.
They met again on the set of a variety show.
The travel competition show Racing, sponsored by Jingnan Club, began filming at the club. Xiang Wanli took part as a temporary replacement host for the HQ video platform.
Known as a "goddess adored by homebodies," Xiang Wanli looked thin and delicate. She was repeatedly left without a teammate, and no one had much faith in her.
"Mr. Jiang, should I talk to the organizers?" his assistant asked, unable to bear watching his boss's ex suffer.
"Even you have been fooled by her delicate appearance," Jiang Nanchen said coldly.
Sure enough, even after being forced to team up with the weakest contestants twice in a row, Xiang Wanli still turned things around in every competition. Her popularity soared overnight, and a rising male star came over to flirt with her.
The next day, the media reported: "Goddess adored by homebodies frequently spotted at a certain hotel, suspected of having close ties to an investor" and "Is the goddess adored by homebodies putting on an act? Is she really a scheming tea girl?"
Before long, Xiang Wanli was hounded by negative news. A reporter asked the head of Jingnan, "I heard you and Xiang Wanli have a history. Will you take your past relationship into consideration for the show?"
"I don't get involved in female celebrities' affairs."
A few days later, Jiang Nanchen replaced the rising male star as a guest contestant. That day, the trending Weibo topic was "Jingnan CEO Jiang Nanchen appears on set." But the most popular post under the topic was from Jiang Nanchen himself: "I forgot to mention, she's my female celebrity."
