Before leaving, Chen Binyuan goes upstairs and takes many of the things from Bai Bingyao's room. He thinks that since Bai Bingyao doesn't want him anymore, she can't want anything of his, either.
After being robbed, Bai Bingyao feels terribly wronged and cries her eyes out. Then she goes along with what he said and claims that she's the one who doesn't want Chen Binyuan anymore.
Just as she said back then, when Bai Bingyao reunites with Chen Binyuan, she can't recognize his voice or make out his silhouette. Only when he stands right in front of her does she realize, astonished, that it's really Chen Binyuan.
Chen Binyuan, however, does the opposite of what he said back then. When they meet again, he seems to pour his whole heart out to Bai Bingyao, leaving her completely baffled.
