Rose Disqualified

“Boss, here, have a slice.” One orange segment became the ladder that let Song Yunxiang climb out of the mire.

He had been away from home for over ten years. He had made nothing of himself out there, only ending up filthy and utterly miserable.

In a life like hell, where nobody cared about him, he suddenly met a moon. The moon followed its light to his side, and from then on his life was no longer filled with nothing but rot and filth.

He went home with Cheng Mo. Cheng Mo fed and clothed him, sent him to classes, and paid for his education. He was practically another father to him.

Song Yunxiang: ?

He had worked as a waiter for ten years and thought he understood the world's warmth and coldness, but even he was stunned when Cheng Mo made him catch up on nine years of compulsory education.

Song Yunxiang: I don't get it, but I'm deeply shocked.

“Please let me do something for you.” He knelt on the floor, leaned against Cheng Mo's leg, and looked up at him tentatively.

Cheng Mo thought for a moment, then said, “Then raise a dog for me.”

Oh, a dog. So his sugar daddy just had unusual tastes.

That night, Song Yunxiang dressed appropriately and went to Cheng Mo's room.

Cheng Mo saw him and was speechless for a moment before saying, “Not that kind of dog.”

Song Yunxiang: ?

The next day, he saw Cheng Mo bring home a little dog, a literal one.

Song Yunxiang: Sorry, I was the one with the dirty mind. I repent.

He had always thought Cheng Mo was a god who had descended into the world: a lofty deity who loved everyone, yet was so cold and indifferent.

But later, he realized that even gods could be touched by the mortal world. Cheng Mo had a halo above his head, yet held tightly to the leash around Song Yunxiang's neck and refused to let go.

As Song Yunxiang relied on Cheng Mo, Cheng Mo was also trying to hold on to the warmth he found in him.

They both needed each other.
