A short story, free to read in full.
An alternate fictional world in the Republican era.
Bottom's perspective:
Zhao Haifeng retired from the underworld many years ago, but stories about him still circulated.
He opened a barbershop in a small county town far from the capital. One day, a handsome, fashionably dressed young man walked into the shop...
When they met again, he learned the young man was a pitiful young master whose family had gone bankrupt. The young master had a slender waist, long legs, plenty of capital, and loads of potential. He looked especially good in a suit.
The young man also made sly advances, asking him for protection.
Later, the young man became his bedmate.
Later still, he discovered that the young man had eight hundred tricks up his sleeve.
It didn't matter. He wasn't exactly a good catch himself.
In the end, they fell in love.
Top's perspective:
What does it mean to fall in love with someone?
When Xu Xiuqi was being hunted down, he hid outside a window and saw that strong, rugged man being held down. In that moment, he deliberately exposed himself.
His love began with a desire to conquer, but in the end, he gave it all to Zhao Haifeng.
Tough, athletic bottom x wolf in sheep's clothing, bankrupt young master top

· The bottom has exes and bedmates. The top is also his type, but that doesn't mean he keeps chasing someone after a breakup or after they start a relationship with someone else.
· At first, both leads are attracted to each other's looks. Their romance is a somewhat unusual case of mutual pursuit.
· The top is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Truly.
· Both leads have their flaws. Because of love, their looks, and their good experiences together, they choose to accept each other.
Theme: Don't judge people by their looks, and guard against arrogance and lust
