[Blurb]
Wu Peng is a newly hired wildlife rescue veterinarian. Whenever work goes badly, he wonders when he'll be able to talk directly with his patients, just like a doctor who treats humans.
Being a veterinarian is just too hard. Not only can his patients not talk, but sometimes they're bad-tempered, often misunderstand him, and will lash out with teeth or claws at the slightest disagreement. If only he could communicate with them properly!
Perhaps his resentment ran so deep that the gods heard his plea. Bam! They sent him to a beastfolk continent.
Wu Peng clutched his only piece of luggage, a used portable medical kit, and gazed out at a desolate, primitive tribe and the beastfolk wearing grass skirts that left their butts exposed. He took a deep breath and raised a certain finger at the heavens. Are you messing with me?!
There was no going back. Since he was already here, he might as well do his usual job, while also helping build the place up, spreading good food, and improving everyone's quality of life...
Before long, the poor little tribe had risen to become one of the strongest tribes on the beastfolk continent. Wu Peng became the most respected shaman on the continent, with countless followers and students everywhere.
"Sigh, back then, all I wanted was to be an ordinary veterinarian." Wu Peng propped his chin on his hand.
"Then, ordinary veterinarian, can you take a look and tell me what's wrong with me? It's pounding right here." A white tiger walked in and sat down before him, pressing a huge paw to his chest.
"..." Wu Peng shot him a sidelong glance and grabbed the white tiger by both ears. "Su Wei! You're teasing me again, aren't you? You're the chief of a tribe. Don't you have anything better to do?"
"I'm not." The white tiger, Su Wei, flicked his ears, but didn't pull away from Wu Peng's hands.
"As if I'd believe you. You're the craftiest one of all. I know you! When I first got here, you even suspected I had ulterior motives!" Wu Peng squeezed the tiger's round ears until they looked like little rabbit ears.
"I'm sorry. I was wrong." Su Wei guiltily rubbed his big head against Wu Peng. "But my heart really is pounding fast right now. It happens every time I see you."
Wu Peng met those gentle, pure blue tiger eyes. Heat slowly spread across his pale cheeks. With a muffled sound, he buried his bright-red face in the other's fluffy white fur.
After a long while, a voice as faint as a mosquito's came from the fur. "Me too."
"Really?!" Su Wei transformed into a man in delight and knelt down to embrace the person before him.
"?! How many times have I told you not to transform without warning?! Put some clothes on!!!"
The tribespeople outside the door: Sigh, the chief has made the shaman mad again.
