My name is Hagiwara Kenji. I'm seven years old, and I'm in first grade at Teitan Elementary School in Beika Town.
In my previous life, my name was Hagiwara Kenji. I worked for the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's □□ Disposal Unit, and I died in the line of duty while defusing a bomb. That was seven years ago.
Now I have a new family and friends. I still get to see my former parents and my older sister from time to time, as well as my childhood friend, Matsuda. After getting in touch with him using a code, I even helped him catch the bomber who killed me. My body may be small, but my mind is still sharp. I'm quite happy with my new life, and I'm truly grateful to Heaven for letting me keep my memories when I was reborn.
After that, I grew up and started school like any ordinary smart kid, without attracting attention at all. That was because two even smarter transfer students joined our class. Their names were Edogawa Conan and Haibara Ai. I kept wondering if their memories had survived when they were reborn, too.
I thought my new life would carry on just like that, until one day after school, an adult acquaintance of Edogawa-kun suddenly asked the café employee downstairs to pick up him and Haibara Ai. I vaguely heard them talking about things like an "organization" and "poison."
I sensed something was off and secretly followed them. That's when I saw the café waiter who had come to pick them up: blond, dark-skinned, and exactly like a friend from my previous life who had disappeared right after graduation.
My eyes widened in shock.
The next day, I walked up to Edogawa Conan and said with dramatic emphasis, "Conan-chan, please let Hagi join the Junior Detective League!"
Just putting this idea out there. I'll write it when I have time.
