Is there really another you in the mirror?

Xu Zhigui, who intends to devote his entire life to medicine, has no doubt that the answer is no.

That is, until an identical person crawls out of the mirror, grabs him by the collar, and says, "I am you."

"?"

Xu Zhigui feels the edifice of his scientific worldview begin to wobble.

And that's not all. The person also says nonsense like, "You will die, and so will your parents."

Xu Zhigui: "???"

But he is right.

In a society where mind engraving has become popular, consciousness-transfer technology is rapidly advancing. Then one day, the Xu couple, who are in charge of the project, suddenly die. While investigating, Xu Zhigui falls into one trap after another.

Just as he's at his wit's end, the person in the mirror asks maliciously, "Need my help?"

Xu Zhigui: "No! I'm going to find the bodies."

The person: "Don't bother. There's not a bone left."

Xu Zhigui: "Then I'll find my mentor."

The person: "Don't bother. He's a dead old man."

Xu Zhigui: "I'll go find my buddy."

The person: "He's the mastermind behind your murder."

Xu Zhigui completely loses it and roars, "Aah... Then what am I supposed to do?"

The person slowly approaches, lifts his chin, and murmurs, "Depend on me. Beg me to help you."

The day the conspiracy ends, time begins to run backward, and the gears of fate start turning. On December 30, Year 32 of the Engraving Era, time resets.
