Taking Online Classes with Qin Shi Huang

[Completed. I may revise the text from time to time.]

One day, Xia Anyi was attending an online history class when she suddenly heard a strange voice.

Teacher: “Qin Shi Huang once went to sea in search of immortals, hoping to live forever. He was deceived by sorcerers several times.”

An unfamiliar young man's voice, low and cool, commented: “What a fool.”

Xia Anyi: “?”

Teacher: “Later, eunuchs and sycophants manipulated him, and the empire fell after only two generations.”

The voice: “Useless.”

Xia Anyi: “...”

Her fists clenched. “I'm taking notes and marking the key points for the exam. Could you please shut up?”

After enduring his complaints about all sorts of subjects and modern life, she said she was used to him by then, and that she actually enjoyed trading barbs with him.

Until one day, she accidentally discovered the big shot behind his secret identity: the First Emperor himself.

Xia Anyi: “...”

She silently lowered her head and glanced at the brightly colored doodles she'd drawn over the character portrait in her history book.

Then she remembered the Mary Sue drama about Qin Shi Huang that she'd watched with him a couple of days ago, and all the unofficial historical gossip about him they'd made fun of.

The year Ying Zheng returned to Qin, he discovered that a miraculous light screen appeared every night, livestreaming the histories of people from some unknown dynasty.

He'd mocked the deeds of that “First Emperor through the ages,” only to discover later that it was himself.

Ying Zheng: “...”

From then on, he spent his days building his empire and his nights catching up on lessons and doing practice problems.

The Four Great Inventions √ Iron plows and ox-drawn farming √ Chain pumps and waterwheels √ Cotton cultivation √ Steel and coal √ Western spinning machines and steam engines √...

Take down the Six States ahead of schedule √ Recover the Western Regions √ Expand the territory √ Beat up the overseas countries √

Ying Zheng, playing with his own piece of merch: “I intend to establish a Great Qin Academy. My ministers will get the same practice exams used by later generations. Moved?”

The various factions who'd been beaten ahead of schedule: “...”

* Not historical fiction. You can think of it as a parallel timeline.

* The spotlight is on Zheng Ge. The main story focuses on banter and Great Qin's development, with a romance in the extras.

* To thank everyone for supporting the official release, every chapter comes with a bonus mini-scene. I recommend not muting the author's notes!
