On Becoming a Villain's Henchman

For some reasons not worth mentioning, she was forced to assume the name Celeste and become a low-budget, bare-bones version of an "all-purpose wish-granting machine" to meet the requirements of the adjudication mechanism and earn her "freedom."

The adjudication mechanism demands that she be "helpful," "generous," and "..." In Celeste's eyes, this is nothing less than an inhumane experiment designed to wipe out her humanity.

After realizing that she was irredeemably rotten and never going to change, the adjudication agency had a System specially created to supervise her, and added another rule: she must help the primary wish-makers she is bound to fulfill their "dreams."

However, things went wrong the very first time the new rule was put into practice.

The bound person looked utterly despondent, his eyes filled with despair at this wretched world. He said, "I want to create a perfect world without war, without partings, without pain..."

"..."

How was she supposed to pull that off?

For the first time, Celeste thought the System had gone crazy.

And the people she was bound to after that were one weirder than the next.

For example:

"I want Manhattan."

"I want to ascend to Heaven."

"I want the Four Souls Jewel."

"I want the Blue Spider Lily."

"I want..."

Celeste's answer to all of them: What the hell? Do I look like Manhattan/Heaven/the Four Souls Jewel/the Blue Spider Lily to you...?

OOC warning

Some literary clashes with them (???).

Even the wicked have their nemesis. Those who aren't human are another matter.

Theme: Don't be pleased by things, and don't grieve for yourself
