After Breaking Up with Her Agent, the Best Actress Went Crazy

Tao Ruofei would always remember that winter. The wind and snow fell like dumplings during the New Year festivities.

On an outdoor set, she was filming a short drama in a thin dress.

The director said the hem was still too long and had to be cut off.

Yin Xue stepped forward and said, "Sorry, this drama is too awful. She's not filming it."

The director flew into a rage and demanded to know what Tao Ruofei's business had to do with her.

Yin Xue held out her business card and said, "She's my artist. What do you think?"

Yin Xue was the talent director at Xingyu Management, one of the top agencies in the industry.

The director stopped trying to hold them back, and Tao Ruofei followed Yin Xue out in a daze.

Once they were off set, Yin Xue draped a coat over her and said, "You can take bad roles, but you can't work with bad people. Keep your eyes open when you choose roles from now on."

With that, she turned to leave.

Tao Ruofei called after her, "Will you be my manager?"

Yin Xue didn't look back. "Not just anyone can become one of my artists."

Tao Ruofei asked, "What are the terms?"

Yin Xue: "A twenty-year exclusive contract."

Tao Ruofei: "I'll sign."

Yin Xue turned back. "Are you sure?"

Tao Ruofei: "I'm sure."

Yin Xue came back over and held out her hand. "From now on, you're mine."

Tao Ruofei wasn't the first star Yin Xue had made, but she was the most successful. At the height of her fame, she swept up award after award, and offers for films and TV dramas poured in. She could even sneeze and stay on the trending page for days.

Yin Xue felt at ease. She could focus on her other artists.

But then Tao Ruofei went off the rails. For example:

At an entertainment awards ceremony, with several senior stars present, Tao Ruofei shamelessly stole the center spot.

During a drama promotion, when the male actor was working hard to interact, Tao Ruofei bluntly called him greasy.

During casual banter on a variety show, when the guests were complimenting one another, Tao Ruofei called them insincere.

And so on.

Every time she went off the rails, Weibo crashed, and Yin Xue fell apart.

Even so, Tao Ruofei's reputation began to crumble.

Her fans kicked up a fuss, accusing Yin Xue of incompetence.

And Tao Ruofei, with a particularly innocent look, said, "My manager taught me almost everything I do. I'm very grateful to my manager."

In an instant, the fans were outraged.

Yin Xue couldn't take it anymore. She placed the contract they'd signed years ago in front of Tao Ruofei. "I know you're trying to make me tear up the contract. If you think that's for the best, I'll give you what you want. I'm leaving."

Tao Ruofei panicked.

But Yin Xue had already left.
