Little Taotie

As a young beast, Mu Shanhuai lived on Desolate Snow Mountain for tens of thousands of years.

Snow covered the mountain all year round, and any birds or beasts that entered perished.

In a haze, she seemed to have a dream.

In the dream, she followed an old immortal who said he would take her to marry the highest deity in the heavens.

He promised her endless delicacies and boundless wealth.

She believed him and followed, only to discover that the mighty deity wanted to use her heart as a medicinal ingredient.

It was for his wife, whose divine nature was fragile.

That deity was so handsome. The wind swirled around him as he walked, a sight unlike anything she had ever seen.

When she woke, her face was wet with tears, and the wind stung her against the snow.

And right before her stood an old immortal.

"Shanhuai, come with me. Your mother said she tied a red thread between you and our Lord. I'll take you to a life of wealth and glory."

She went to heaven, became an immortal, and met the legendary Lord, along with the girl he held protectively in his arms.

Just as she was about to be taken away and used as a medicinal ingredient, she finally asked,

"The red thread binds two people together for a lifetime. Are you truly unafraid of breaking the laws of heaven?"

Golden light shone in the Lord's eyes, like the dawn seen from a mountaintop.

"All I want is for my Jiaojiao to live."

After that, she destroyed the gods and ascended to the Ninth Heaven. When her strength finally gave out, she fell into a warm embrace.

"It was only a trial of love. How did you end up in such a sorry state, little Taotie?"
