Liao Tingyu is just an ordinary wage earner. When the job she'd already signed up for fell through, she turned to working odd jobs.
Lately, though, she kept running into strange people, whether on the job or on her way to one.
For example, a group of tourists from out of town refused to get off the bus when it reached their stop. They kept shouting about monsters, and some even passed out.
Then there were the college students she met while working as a real estate agent. They were eloquent and kind, and at last she'd found people she could get along with! But every last one of them was mentally unstable.
At their enthusiastic request, Liao Tingyu took over the customers they had been dealing with and made a fortune.
See? She knew these people were good people!
Later, she realized that a group of people seemed to be constantly hovering around her.
Liao Tingyu didn't understand why, but somehow they'd heard she needed money. They offered her a huge sum to work as their bodyguard, but the places they went were amusement parks, movie theaters, coffee shops...
They paid well, there was no danger, and she even got to eat and play for free. What a great deal!
The game Timed Survival fully descended upon the world. Its dungeons were crawling with monsters, and the death rate was as high as 80%.
But ever since the Bus Ghost Story dungeon, the death rate had dropped dramatically, reaching an unprecedented survival rate.
The survivors said they'd encountered an incredibly powerful expert. The authorities failed to find any information, and gradually everyone forgot about it.
But as the dungeons grew more difficult and casualties mounted, only a few dungeons occasionally saw high survival rates. The authorities had no choice but to question those players, only to hear that it was because of the presence of an "expert."
The authorities decided to recruit these "experts" to improve ordinary people's chances of survival.
But as they investigated and listened to the players' recollections, it seemed that all these experts were the same person. Even more outrageous, this expert wasn't a player at all, but a high-level NPC!!!
And so...
One new rule was pinned to the top of the Player Handbook:
No matter what dungeon you're in, if you encounter an odd-job worker named Liao Tingyu, hire her without hesitation! She's a human safe zone!!
