The Unhinged Actress and Her D-List CP

Everyone in the entertainment industry both loves and hates Lu Miao.

They hate how she never knows when to back down, how stubborn and dictatorial she is. But they love her godlike acting and star quality: every film and TV series she appears in becomes a hit.

Try to use a dirty trick or trip her up, and when Lu Miao goes on a rampage, even the biggest star will get ripped to shreds.

No one dares cross her. Absolutely no one.

With no other choice, everyone treats her like a goddess, burning incense and praying to every deity they can think of to trip Lu Miao up.

No one knows which deity finally went blind, but at last they got their chance.

Mu Xiaobai, a C-list actress who shot to fame with a set of campus photos taken when she started university, was signed by the agency Lu Miao worked for.

Their first meeting was a chaotic one. Just after meeting the company's big boss, Mu Xiaobai ran into Lu Miao, who was being splashed with acid by a hater disguised as a company employee.

Without a second thought, Mu Xiaobai jumped in front of Lu Miao. Lu Miao scooped her up with one arm and moved sideways to avoid the danger.

In Lu Miao's eyes, the agency's new signing was a little idiot.

Who sees someone about to get splashed with acid and rushes toward them instead of getting out of the way?

Did she think she was invulnerable?

Lu Miao glared at Mu Xiaobai, whose little face had gone deathly pale with fright. Then she handed the woman she'd just pulled into her arms to her agent.

"Take her to the hospital."

Her agent said, "Sister Lu, she didn't get splashed."

"Take her to get her head checked."

Mu Xiaobai also thought she ought to get her head checked.

Even she couldn't understand why, despite always being shrewd and looking out for her own interests, she'd charged straight into danger.

And that wasn't all. Her mind, usually full of thoughts about her future career, was now filled with Lu Miao after just one glance.

A woman?!

Had she, Mu Xiaobai, fallen in love with Lu Miao at first sight?!
