The long, drawn-out war between childhood friends sums up the eighteen-year relationship between Cen Wu and Fu Zhilin.
In their everyday lives, they were always at each other's throats, unable to stand one another.
Then, on the eve of starting university, a car accident out of nowhere threw Cen Wu's body into chaos and gave her a soft, sweet alter ego with a completely opposite personality.
Cen Wu was furious about it. Her second personality was active at night and asleep during the day, and kept doing things against her will when she wasn't aware.
Like acting cute, begging for hugs, and bursting into tears over the slightest hurt.
Fu Zhilin was furious too.
Because he was the poor sap tasked with looking after Cen Wu, and the one who had to put up with her acting cute, begging for hugs, and crying.

To stop her episodes from scaring her roommates, Fu Zhilin received his parents' blessing and rented an off-campus apartment to live in with her.
One night, a few months into living together,
Cen Wu got up to use the bathroom and accidentally spotted Fu Zhilin standing in front of the mirror, trying to scrub the fresh hickey off his neck.
She watched coldly from the doorway for a while before finally asking the question on her mind. "What clueless girl did that to you? How could she be so rough?"
Fu Zhilin raised an eyebrow and pointed to the evidence, a look of inscrutable meaning in his eyes. "Half an hour ago."
"While your second personality was still here."

Cen Wu had a secret she'd take to the grave.
After she recovered from her dissociative identity disorder, she'd actually pretended to be her 2.0 self several more times and thrown herself at Fu Zhilin.
She kept it secret until Fu Zhilin asked her out. One day, by chance, Cen Wu opened the notes app on his phone and found an entry he used specifically to keep track of her episodes:
September 11: Came knocking in the middle of the night, acting cute and asking me to play games with her.
September 25: Ate the last strawberry cake, then cried in distress. It took several hours to comfort her.
November 23.
She really isn't good at pretending to be 2.0.
But she's kind of cute.
Cen Wu's breath caught at those last words. Almost at the same moment, a pair of arms wrapped around her from behind and braced against the edge of the desk in front of her.
The young man rested his chin on the crown of her head. His slightly low voice, tinged with laughter, brushed her ear. "Pretending for so long must have been pretty hard. So, Jinjin, remember to be a little nicer to me from now on, okay?"
#I'm still playing along today, because I want to find out how many more adorable sides of you I don't know about.#
Stubborn, sharp-tongued little chili pepper / sweet, delicate little softie x her wolfish childhood friend

Content warnings:
1. The heroine really does have two personalities at first. They switch places and have no memories of each other. She recovers later. [This is for the plot; please don't equate it entirely with real-life dissociative identity disorder.]
2. Both leads have only been with each other, happy ending.
Theme: Study hard and keep improving.
