I’m the Tragic Supporting Character Who Was Saved

Across countless worlds, everyone is born with a different script. Everyone wants to be the dazzling protagonist, but someone always draws the lot of tragic supporting character. Until one day, a ray of light suddenly shines into their dark, hopeless lives: This world has treated you terribly. I swear I’ll make it up to you! * Unit One: (Nonhuman bottom) In a reborn story, the protagonist uses their incredible people skills to rise through the social ranks and their ability to foresee the future to reach the pinnacle of life. And of course, I’m not that protagonist. I’m just a supporting character who got in the way and was unfortunately kidnapped and taken to a remote mountain village. I was kidnapped and then found. I was rejected and abandoned... Until someone crouched down in front of me: “They don’t want you, but I do.” Later, that person... or rather, that monster slowly revealed its full form before me. Countless writhing “black strands” wove themselves into an enormous, soft “blanket” that wrapped me up completely. “An affection-starved, pitiful top * nonhuman, doting-mother bottom” * Unit Two: (Guide and Sentinel) In a bittersweet story, the protagonist and their partner play out a tongue-tied romance, unable to voice the feelings in their hearts. I’m neither the protagonist nor their partner. I’m the supporting character who is the protagonist’s father, dead in the prime of his life and never even met by them. Unfortunately, I wasn’t born in a future age of advanced medical technology and skies full of flying vehicles. Instead, I lived in the ancient early days when Guides and Sentinels first appeared. As one of the Tower’s first students, I was a widely renowned top student with a bright future ahead of me, until one day I suddenly went blind in an accident. During that time, I met my partner and married him. Our life seemed blissful, until I received a message from a viewer: “Watch out for him. He’s the one who made you go blind!” [Top: His gentleness is a façade. Coldness is his true nature.] [Bottom: Exactly the opposite.] * Unit Three: (Nonhuman top) As a mere backdrop to the story, my entire life was just something the protagonists casually mentioned while on a date: A snake-bodied monster with a human head, violently trained like a circus animal from childhood. If I showed the slightest disobedience, a spiked whip or a high-voltage shock would be laid on me. I had no choice but to submit, becoming the troupe’s star attraction. My long tail made it impossible for me to walk. For more than a decade, I spent almost all my time crawling along the ground and performing for people’s amusement. Eventually, the circus abandoned me when I fell gravely ill. As the little monster curled up on a freezing street, waiting to die, someone suddenly stopped nearby. A heavy sigh rang out especially clearly. “I finally found you.” * Unit Four: (Urban fantasy) Every “crime investigation” story has a serial-murder case that can be wrapped up easily once the protagonist appears. I’m just an unnamed supporting character who dies before the protagonist ever arrives. I worked diligently day after day, year after year. Then a murder case came to light, and more and more cases using the same methods began to surface. Every lead pointed to me. I didn’t know that my world was only a game, or that the real culprit had supernatural abilities. Mentally unwell and consumed by self-doubt, I should have died by accident in a daze, but someone’s arrival changed everything. “Believe me. I’m reborn.” * Reader’s note: One: Each unit has a different protagonist. The top is a minor supporting character in the story, while the bottom is a savior who uses a System to change their fate. The top falls hard from the moment they appear, and as they spend time together, the top’s feelings are returned! Two: Strength dynamics vary, as do the characters and their experiences. Some are weak, some are strong, but no matter how weak they are, they will never turn the tables and become the top. I’ve gotten a little tired of seeing things from the task-doer’s perspective, so I thought I’d try seeing them from the perspective of the person being saved. Anyway, it’s just a sweet story, a slice-of-life diary... Theme: Redemption
