"Hika-chan must be one of the new swords the Time Government recently added. We found you during an expedition, so we brought you back to the citadel."
Mikazuki smiled over his teacup as he explained, "Don't worry. Everyone can live just fine even without a Master."
Morofushi Hiromitsu looked down at himself, troubled. "But why have I turned into a child?"
"That's how short swords are!" His senior, Imanotsurugi, waved a hand and cheerfully reminded him, "We're about to head out. Are you ready, Hika-chan?"
The boy gave up trying to figure it out. He blinked his bright blue, catlike eyes and offered everyone a shy smile. "Yeah. Let's go."
He'd been at the citadel for ages, but this was his first time going to the present day!
Suppressing the inexplicable flutter in his heart, Morofushi Hiromitsu silently prayed that this expedition would go smoothly...
It didn't go smoothly at all!
After unexpectedly regaining his memories in the present day and facing an explosion head-on to save one of his fellow trainees, Morofushi Hiromitsu fell silent.
In the end, he still left the citadel and his friends, determined to find the childhood friend who had lost him.
After many twists and turns, he finally reached the right timeline and managed to get news of the other man.
A pink-haired, squinty-eyed graduate student passing by the Poirot Café unexpectedly caught a little cat-eyed boy snooping around nearby.
Okiya Subaru: Huh. So that man has a kid, too.
Morofushi Hiromitsu: ?
Looking at the boy, whose face was almost identical to Scotland's, Okiya Subaru felt conflicted. "I'm sorry about what happened to him."
Thinking he meant Bourbon, Morofushi Hiromitsu was horrified. "What happened to him? Is something wrong?"
Rei Furuya, who was working at the time, hurried over. "Hiro, I'm fine! FBI, let go of him!"
Please note:
1. Hiro x Rei x Hiro. A lighthearted, everyday-life comfort fic with a sweet tone and some original settings. Morofushi Hiromitsu is the central character. There will be familial affection and friendship feelings, but no romantic storylines for other characters!
2. Major OOC warning. This is my take on Hiromitsu. His short-sword/child form takes up a large part of the story. There will be scenes where people mistake little Hika's identity, and scenes where lots of people raise him, including his older brother Takaaki and the bomb squad...
3. The main setting is Detective Conan, with quite a bit of Touken Ranbu and Hozuki's Coolheadedness as well. This is mainly due to the premise. There may be some plot and timeline bugs, but it's no big deal (?)
