A Virtual Streamer in the Insectoid World

*This is an alternate fictional setting and has no connection to real life. Please don't read it as a reflection of reality.

Jiang Shangge, a virtual streamer on the Xiaodianshi website, was livestreaming when a sudden electrical short sent a current coursing through him, transporting him straight into an insectoid world.

As soon as he arrived, he was told he had to marry Vincent, the Empire's marshal!

The former Jiang Shangge, now Angel: What? Get married?!

Shocked, he spent the night searching for "Imperial Marshal."

Aside from a handsome photo and a list of censored terms, all he found were words like "female insect" and "male insect." His worldview was shattered.

The only upside was that marriage meant he didn't have to worry about food or clothes.

Angel: So I'm the canary in the cage!

Since getting married, apart from the first time, he'd only seen his spouse a few times.

Angel quietly dug out his old avatar and continued his slacker streamer career on the biggest livestreaming platform in the insectoid world.

The virtual streamer, whose name was "Xu Jinhuan," specialized in all kinds of games: MOBA, single-player, horror, you name it.

He thought the gaming category was too crowded and that hardly anyone would watch. But just a few days after he started streaming, a huge crowd of insects poured in, saying that listening to his voice had cured their insomnia.

Angel: ...

He looked at what he was streaming and fell silent.

He'd never imagined that a voice this deep could be used for ASMR streams, giving people something to fall asleep to.

Then a sparkling comment appeared: The streamer's voice is so nice!

It came with the highest-value gift available in the livestream.

Angel: ?

From then on, this fan was always at the top of the leaderboard every time he streamed.

Vincent had been ordered to marry Angel. Apart from a hurried meeting to register their marriage, they hadn't seen each other since.

During a break, he accidentally opened a noisy livestream and frowned, about to close it.

Suddenly, the virtual streamer started talking, and he was even telling Vincent's story!

The voice was so pleasant and soothing that Vincent was bewitched into recharging his account and sending a gift.

In his spare time, that voice kept echoing in his mind. He often wondered: if his spouse's voice sounded like that, perhaps this marriage wouldn't be so hard to endure.

Vincent had thought they'd never meet, but after one stream ended, he received an invitation from the streamer to meet in person. After some hesitation, he agreed.

The meeting place was near his home.

The moment they saw each other, they both fell silent.

"Why is it you?!"
