[Republican Era] Rebellious Nature

When Zeng Chengran was young and powerless, he abandoned the woman he loved and left for a distant land.

By the time he returned in glory, nearing forty, his beloved had already married someone else.

He used every means at his disposal until she was single again.

Just when he thought they could rekindle their old romance, she introduced him to a beautiful young woman and told him she was unable to bear children. Once the girl gave birth to his child, the three of them could become a real family.

At first, Zeng Chengran regarded the girl only as the future mother of his child.

But the girl was so innocent, delicate, and beautiful that he gradually began to want both women for himself.

Then the girl caught him in the act with his beloved and started to rebel, trying to escape his grasp.

He watched her coldly, wanting to see how long she could hold out.

Her newfound rebellious streak was surprisingly strong, but she had grown up sheltered in the inner chambers. No matter how strong she was, she could not escape his grasp.

Who could have guessed that the cold observer would eventually witness her defiance grow ever stronger, until she walked right out of his world and never looked back?

PS: 1. The male lead is not Zeng. 2. The female lead is not a virgin, while the male lead is. 3. The female lead is a rebellious girl.
