The Little Cutie's Cannon-Fodder Aunt Awakens [1960s]

Ning Maidong is a cannon-fodder character. The arrival of someone who transmigrated into a book disrupted her story, causing her to awaken and gain the ability to see onscreen comments.

Plot 1:

Ning Maidong has a three-year-old nephew, born after her older sister died in childbirth. Her brother-in-law died young. In the original story, she blamed her little nephew for causing her only sister's death and abandoned the newborn at an orphanage. After awakening, Ning Maidong immediately went to look for him. But she had no idea which child at the orphanage was her nephew. In the end, she found him with the help of the onscreen comments.

Plot 2:

The three-year-old boy looks at the auntie who gives him meat buns and milk candies, his eyes full of happiness. The old ladies at the orphanage say that strangers who are nice to him must be monsters in disguise who eat children, so they tell him not to go outside. But he thinks that if this auntie will keep giving him meat buns and milk candies, he will let her eat him. He'll just have to ask her to eat him slowly, so his meat can grow back and she can keep eating him forever.

Plot 3:

After awakening, Ning Maidong learns the story and decides to intercept the female lead's ginseng. But when she gets to the mountain, she can't find it.

[What is Ning Maidong doing here? Oh my god, the female lead's ginseng is right near her!]

[Don't let her see the ginseng! It's just to Ning Maidong's lower right. This is so dangerous!]

And then she finds it.

Plot 3:

After awakening, Ning Maidong learns that the female lead will get a job after saving the director of the cannery. But she doesn't know what day it'll happen, so she waits around every day, walking back and forth along that road.

[What does Ning Maidong do here every day?]

[I remember the female lead saved the cannery director somewhere nearby, right?]

[The person above, the female lead saved the cannery director at the previous bend.]

And then Ning Maidong saves the cannery director.

Finally, a very, very long time later, comments like these appear:

[Ning Maidong, were you reborn?]

[Ning Maidong, did you transmigrate into a book?]

[Ning Maidong, have you awakened?]

Ning Maidong looks at the comments above and smiles. "Thank you, my little angels, for helping me. I've awakened."
