I Just Like What I Can't Have

Xiao Xiao willingly spent twenty years as a menial disciple of the Tianqing Sect, despite having the worst possible mixed spiritual roots. It was all because of Chun Yang.

She fell in love with Chun Yang at first sight. That sudden pounding of her heart swept her away, and she was willing to be a moth flying into the flames.

But Chun Yang was the greatest cultivator under heaven, the Supreme Elder of the Tianqing Sect. Xiao Xiao was merely a low-ranking cultivator with mixed spiritual roots and no talent at all. There was no chance they could ever be together.

But some devotion is like a sunflower turning toward the sun. Sunflowers can never touch the sun, but they will always chase after it.

Xiao Xiao chased Chun Yang. Even the chance to see him a little more often was enough to make her happy for a long time.

Her friend asked, “Is it worth it?”

Xiao Xiao answered, “If not for him, I never would have set foot on the path of cultivation.”

Some people laughed at her for being lovesick; others called her a fool.

But no one knew that what truly captivated Xiao Xiao was the very disparity between her and Chun Yang, a disparity she knew all too well.

She had always known she was unworthy of Chun Yang, but that was fine.

“I just like people who are out of my league!”

She had already enjoyed the life she wanted in her previous life. With her memories intact, all she wanted from this second life was a little excitement.

Just like young people in her previous life chasing celebrities or shipping fictional characters.

This time around, she could ship a real person who was both handsome and powerful. That was pretty great too. She could practically eat three big bowls at every meal!

She just liked what she couldn't have. Distance makes the heart grow fonder. Watching from afar was the ultimate pleasure!
