Kang Yang thinks she is terribly unlucky.
Other people transmigrate and can understand the language and read the writing. She transmigrated to a Western Regions Buddhist kingdom that had never appeared on any map.
She can't understand the gibberish people speak, and she doesn't recognize a single one of the strange, scribble-like characters.
From that day on, she became a little mute.
*
One day, the little mute fell in love with the aloof, refined Buddhist monk.
She once dared to steal a kiss from him while he was asleep. Afterwards, afraid people would find out she had profaned him, she prayed every day.
But she didn't know that before then, the monk had carefully restrained himself as he kissed her, then gone to the Hall of Discipline.
Little Scene 1:
One sunny afternoon, the little mute showed up in front of He Mo Luojia with her alms bowl.
He Mo Luojia: What are you doing?
The little mute gestured animatedly beside him: Take me to beg for alms. I don't know the way.
He Mo Luojia frowned, fished a gold ingot out of his sleeve, and dropped it into the bowl.
From then on, whenever the little mute ran out of money, she would show up in front of him with her bowl.
Little Scene 2:
The little mute liked earrings, but she didn't have pierced ears, so she pestered He Mo Luojia until he pierced them for her.
Then she wanted him to make her earrings by hand, too.
He Mo Luojia: I am a Buddhist monk. How can I make such a girlish trinket for you?
The little mute gave a cold snort, turned away, and sulked.
He Mo Luojia stayed up late by lamplight making earrings for her, then brought them to her.
“I was only saying that. It's not that I really wouldn't make them for you... Don't ignore me.”
Note: The heroine pretends to be mute at first. Later, she learns the language from the hero and begins to speak.
