Back in high school, Pei Yan and Shen Zhi were the sun-bright, handsome one and the gentle, refined one, respectively. They were the red rose and white moonlight in every girl's heart.

Then the red rose won the white moonlight's heart, and honestly, it was hard not to approve.

From school uniforms to suits, ten years passed in a flash.

That day, Pei Yan came home from work. Loosening his tie, he ran into the kitchen and hugged Shen Zhi from behind as he chopped vegetables. He chatted, "Xiao Zhi, the company is funding education in impoverished mountain villages. We picked a few students to intern here over the summer. There's one kid who looks exactly like you did when you were young."

Shen Zhi turned and reached up to undo his tie, a gentle smile on his fair face. "Are you saying I'm old?"

"Of course not!" Pei Yan protested innocently, leaning in to kiss him. "You're a few months younger than me."

For a while after that, Pei Yan kept bringing up the kid.

Then, later on, he stopped.

He never mentioned him again.

Six months later, on Shen Zhi's birthday, he waited outside Pei Yan's company all night. Near dawn, he saw Pei Yan come out of the building with an arm around a boy. The boy was slender, with red lips, pearly white teeth, and soft black hair.

Shen Zhi studied the boy closely, then suddenly smiled through his tears. He really did look so much like Shen Zhi in his youth.
