Li Jin has no choice but to trade a method for making kudzu starch noodles in exchange for his freedom. Who knew the county magistrate would keep an eye on him from then on? Li Jin goes to great lengths to get the magistrate hooked on food and farming, so he won't have time to meddle in anything else. But the magistrate quietly invites Liu Changqing, the chief aide of Yizhou. They stare at each other. The chief aide stammers, "Your... Your Highness..." "What a coincidence!" Li Jin takes the initiative, winking. After finally coaxing and tricking the chief aide into leaving, an important figure arrives from the capital. The man insists that Li Jin sells fake talismans to harm people, and demands that he debate him on Mount Qingcheng. The man's connections are too powerful, so Li Jin can only do as he asks and debate (curse) him.
