Shi Ling is the most beautiful little prince of the merfolk. After an accident, he leaves the ocean and comes to the world above.
His people warn him: Humans are awful! They all want to have sex with fish! You have to be careful!
Shi Ling takes their warning to heart.
But he's so foolish that he accidentally gets captured and taken to an auction house.
The beautiful mermaid sits in his cage, shedding little pearls as he helplessly watches the humans fight over him.
Just as the auction reaches its peak, an Imperial officer suddenly storms the place with his men.
In the largest cage, they find a rare-colored mermaid.
His silver tail is plump and beautiful. Even missing a few scales, it remains dazzling.
The hands bound so tightly that they have red marks are suddenly freed. Shi Ling swishes his tail, frightened, and cautiously rubs against the officer's neck.
"Could you... save me?"
He doesn't see the shameless gazes fixed on him from all around.

Shi Ling has always believed that the humans who rescued him and became his owners are good people.
Owner A takes great pains to care for him even while sick, stroking his beautiful tail and forcing it open on the pretext of treating him. Soft, delicate kisses fall upon it.
Owner B says humans like looking at fish bellies, so he teaches Shi Ling to hold a corner of his clothes in his mouth and bare his pale chest. Pressing him against the cold glass, he slips a diamond ring into the gap between Shi Ling's flesh and the pane.
Owner C dresses him in a pretty, translucent gauze skirt, with a cutout revealing the position of his reproductive cavity. Shi Ling finds it strange.
But Owner C says he's a princess, and this is a human custom for princesses. Shi Ling happily swishes his tail.
Then one day, Shi Ling has his first heat after reaching adulthood.
He's forced to lay egg after egg in front of everyone, his eyes widening in terror.
...Wait! Why do they all want to have babies with me?!

The mermaid is frail now that he's just reached adulthood, his bright, sparkling eyes always curiously fixed on the things around him.
This soft, timid little creature actually works up the courage to snuggle against strangers. He's so adorable, so innocent.

A few things to know before reading:
1. The love interest is very foolish, a complete idiot, unbelievably, unbelievably, unbelievably, unbelievably stupid.
2. There will be egg-laying, but no childbirth.
3. There will be a lot of male rivals competing for him. The true love interest is the toughest and can take the most punishment.
4. There may be interstellar warfare, as well as scenes where a nonhuman side character love interest uses force to claim him.
