After I Was Married Off to a Sickly Tycoon, I Couldn't Die

Lin Qing was assigned a ghost marriage. Unable to reincarnate on his own, he could only squat by the River of Forgetfulness and wait for his husband. After three years with no sign of him, he thought it over and decided to eat his fill before going out to look for him.

The evil ghosts he ate: Help!

His husband was named He Qingwu, the renowned eldest son of the He family. Unfortunately, he was gravely ill and, by all accounts, had no more than three months to live.

Lin Qing: I waited three years. What's three months?

Lin Qing propped his chin in his hands and floated by his husband's bed every day, waiting for him to die.

His husband was handsome and rich, but also rather pitiful. He was so sick he could barely stay alive, and there wasn't even anyone at his bedside to care for him.

Lin Qing's heart softened: Since you're going to die anyway, I might as well make you more comfortable.

He helped his husband drink water and pulled up his blankets. Then he slipped under the covers himself, using the Yin energy in his body to ease his husband's pain and bring down his fever.

There was another benefit to this, too:

Lin Qing: I can die sooner and be free sooner.

But after his husband absorbed enough of his Yin energy, not only did he fail to die, his complexion actually grew rosier and rosier.

Lin Qing: ?

He Qingwu was the heir to the He family and the foremost celestial master in the Celestial Masters' Court. Unfortunately, he was born with a short lifespan, and had long known that his days were numbered.

As he waited to die, he saw a little ghost who was bold enough to come to his room every day and lay hands on him.

The little ghost snuggled into his arms and muttered softly, "Why is my husband even colder than me?"

He Qingwu: ...

Lin Qing's father couldn't bear to part with the son he'd had with his mistress, so he sent the birth details of his deceased eldest son to the He family to bring good fortune to the marriage. To his surprise, he discovered that Lin Qing was still alive.

The once-neglected Lin Qing was thriving in the He family. The Lin family wanted to cozy up to him, and his ex wanted to get back together.

But there stood the He family's eldest son, who was supposed to have died long ago, shielding Lin Qing in the crook of his arm and not letting anyone touch him.

He Qingwu: I'm not dead yet.
