Su You is the gatekeeper of the Xiaoyang Sword Sect.
She was taken in and raised by her senior brother when she was young. With unparalleled talent, she became the foremost cultivator in the immortal realm in less than a century. Her senior brother was tender and affectionate, with a face of incomparable beauty, and treated her with endless tenderness. The year he took over as sect leader, he told Su You that the sect needed a gatekeeper to eliminate every threat to the sword sect.
Su You solemnly accepted. For the next hundred years, she sat on the long steps before the gate with a Taiyi Sword in hand.
She never moved or spoke, not even when drenched in blood. She never cried out in pain.
But after the sect had secured its footing, several great Daoist sects stormed Xiaoyang Mountain together, pointing their swords at Su You and demanding that the wicked daughter of the Ghost Domain be killed to answer for her crimes.
Before she could even turn around, she heard a gentle voice behind her:
"Fine."
That day, heavy snow blanketed the entire Xuhai Snowfield. Her eyes and spiritual roots were destroyed, and she was cast down to the lower realm.
She died amid the cheers of the immortal cultivators of the heavens.

Seven years after Su You, the daughter of the Ghost Domain, died, a new sect rose in the upper realm. It was called Rakshasa.
The sect had very few disciples and was hidden away in a remote location, beyond anyone's sight.
At first, nobody took it seriously.
There were countless sects in the upper realm, and nine out of ten were stepping stones. Yet at the Immortal Dao Assembly, a blind woman with black gauze over her eyes fought her way through the competition with a pair of swords. One summoned death from the shadows; the other subdued souls and sent them to the afterlife. She won every battle. The crowd stared in astonishment. On the blind woman's sword scabbard, they saw two characters engraved in bold, flowing script:
[Rakshasa]
The cultivation world was thrown into an uproar, and sect leaders scrambled to investigate this sect.
They discovered that the sect had only five members: its three disciples embodied the words "sick, young, and weak," its Grand Elder was a cook who couldn't even truss a chicken, and the blind woman was the sect leader. But strangest of all, a rumor circulated among cultivators that the blind sect leader bore a striking resemblance to the foremost immortal cultivator who had died years ago...
#Heaven makes fate, but I make my own destiny#
A ruthless heroine who awakens from her love-struck delusions and seeks revenge x an emotionally stable (?) transmigrated-into-a-book male caretaker
Reader's Guide:
1. A slow-burn progression story. The main goal is revenge. The only male lead is Chu Yin, the head cook and Grand Elder. He is a character who transmigrated into a book and mostly appears as a companion.
2. The heroine is cold-blooded and has a weak sense of morality early on. Her eyes will be healed. The male lead never becomes particularly powerful in combat. His strengths are his extreme emotional stability and his role as the sect's mascot.
3. The heroine uses two swords (actually three). Her swords are Yin Zhao, Zhen Hun, and Taiyi.
4. The main story is told in third person.
5. "Heaven makes fate, but I make my own destiny" comes from The Four Lessons of Liao Fan.
