Bai Chen is an ordinary college student. He goes on a trip to the mountains during summer vacation, but after taking a fall, he finds himself transported bodily to a planet inhabited by bugs.
On the bug planet, males far outnumber females. The male bugs are all incredibly handsome, while the female bugs leave a lot to be desired, yet the males pamper them to no end.
On Blue Star, Bai Chen would at best be considered pretty good-looking. Here, he's become an absolute beauty who has bugs falling for him left and right.
He gazes at the bugs in the settlement and sighs. Both the male and female bugs look like human men, so how is a straight guy like him supposed to get a wife?
And why are the big, hungry, ferocious bugs crowding around his door every day, getting into fights at the slightest provocation?
He doesn't even dare go out and break it up. At six feet tall, he's so helpless and delicate compared to those hulking bugs, who average over seven feet tall.
By chance, he discovers that, as a human from Blue Star, he's been classified as a precious female bug.
So the bugs have been fighting outside his door every day to compete for the right to mate with him!
There's an unwritten rule on the bug planet: if a female bug doesn't stop a fight between male bugs, it means she accepts the winner as a backup husband.
Bai Chen does a quick count. He already has more than a dozen backup husbands.
Terrified, Bai Chen packs up and runs away in the middle of the night.
He hasn't made it very far before his number-one backup husband, who's been secretly coveting him for ages, carries him back to his nest in his mouth.
Maybe by next spring, there'll be a whole nest of little bugs.
Reader's Guide:
1. Not a traditional bug-people story. The protagonist is the one being pursued, there are no children, and he's a magnet for admirers.
2. A silly, brainless story. Every setting exists to serve the plot, so please don't overthink it!
3. There are many more males than females. The protagonist is a bug queen. Lots of personal worldbuilding, happy ending, one-on-one romance.
