[Mystery + Soft Sci-Fi]
You go about your usual routine, living a quiet life.
One day, the police suddenly summon you, claiming you are suspected of involvement in a kidnapping.
"I was working overtime at the office. Check the security cameras if you don't believe me!"
You're completely bewildered.
The alleged victim: "I was at home. I wasn't kidnapped."
The head of the criminal investigation team immediately realizes things are getting complicated.
The emergency call and the footage are both real, so why do both people involved deny it?
After confirming it was all a misunderstanding, you return home, only to find your computer, which you clearly shut down, glowing brightly. An order confirmation email is open on the screen.
"Welcome to your purchase of the full-dive game Cocoon."
On an impulse, you open the game, only to encounter an identical version of yourself in another strange world.
"You" reach out a hand. "Hello. Why don't you come with me... and see the truth of the world?"
Are you really you? Or are you a character in a game controlled by someone else?
Whatever the case, you can't possibly be fake.
A vast conspiracy lies hidden beneath the tedium of everyday life. Isn't that another kind of apocalypse?
