(Transmigrate) The Empress Reigns Supreme

Emperor Nan Yun Zhao has been obsessed with art since childhood. He has no interest in romance between men and women, much less in governing. He is the late emperor's only son, and even on his deathbed, his father worried that the boy would ruin the empire.

The emperor knows his own limitations. With no interest in political intrigue, he thinks long and hard, then decides he can find himself a capable wife.

He thinks: History has had regent empress dowagers and regent princes. Why not a regent empress?

At once, he sets his sights on Qi Nianyun, the eldest legitimate daughter of the Duke of Qi: ambitious, famed for her talents, uninterested in men, and determined to achieve great things.

He thinks: The empress likes government affairs and is capable of running the country. We can have a child and an heir, and then Father's worries will be over.

After the wedding, the emperor and empress are deeply in love and always spend their time together.

Their daily routine:

Nan Yun Zhao: painting, playing weiqi, playing the zither, practicing calligraphy.

Qi Nianyun: reviewing memorials, reviewing memorials, reviewing memorials.

P.S. 1. The emperor is gorgeous, with all his talents focused on art. But he is broad-minded, knows how to employ people, and trusts those he appoints.

The empress is a strong female lead, devoted to her career, and occasionally teases her handsome emperor husband.

2. The male lead initially wants a wife he can use as a tool, while the female lead becomes empress because the emperor promises she can take part in governing. They fall in love after spending time together as a married couple.

3. The female lead has transmigrated. She has real talent and knowledge, but no practical experience. She is determined to achieve great things, then meets the emperor, her supportive "kindred spirit."

4. The female lead grows into her role; she isn't already a powerhouse from the start.

Theme: Everyone has the right to choose how they want to live.
