The Begonias Still Bloom

Su Bingwen was the most despised performer in a turbulent age. After being carried into the Fu household in a grand sedan chair and made the Fourth Concubine, he became a fox spirit in everyone's eyes.

Outsiders wished they could throw him out at once. A man giving himself to another man? What kind of disgrace was that?

*

The young master of the Fu family, who once treated Su Bingwen as a stand-in, summoning him whenever he pleased and dismissing him just as readily, flipped up his robe in a crowded street and dropped to his knees, clutching Su Bingwen's leg.

“How could you stop loving me? You still love me, don't you?”

Su Bingwen slapped Fu Junyi across the face without the slightest hesitation.

“I'm your stepmother. Have you no shame?”

He turned and walked away without a backward glance, but the scent that still lingered in the air belonged to the other man.

Fu Minglu, Fu Junyi's younger brother, was a boisterous student full of ambition.

At first, he secretly watched Su Bingwen, who might one day become his sister-in-law.

Now he secretly watched Su Bingwen, who had become his stepmother.

He found every move Su Bingwen made captivating.

What no one could ever have expected was that Gong Shiyan, who held power over the Gong family and controlled waterborne transport, would become involved.

A man used to having the final say, he willingly became a stepping stone for Su Bingwen to climb higher, lending a hand when needed and sneaking in a little advantage for himself...

When Su Bingwen came to visit, he pinned him against the window, his voice low and strained.

“The Fourth Concubine should know the rules. If you want someone's help, you have to pay for it.”

His kiss fell gently.

These were the people who helped Su Bingwen make his way in the world.

Not only was he never driven out of the Fu household, he also inherited the Fu family's fortune and became the much-admired Boss Su...
