Blurb: Word is, a zoo has opened in the southern suburbs, and it has issued a number of rules:
1. Do not make wishes to the animals.
2. Do not agree to any requests from the animals.
3. Do not swagger around and scam people in front of the animals.
4. Do not provoke the animals or look them directly in the eyes.
5. Do not enter the zoo after five in the evening.
Tourist A, who was born with a hundred pounds of rebellious streak, refused to believe the warnings and insisted on making a wish in front of a snow-white fox: “I wish I could have a child!”
A month later, the tourist, who had been infertile for years, was pregnant with multiples.
Tourist B ignored the warnings and insisted on staring down a long-haired macaque. It spat all over his head.
A month later, the balding tourist had a full head of hair.

Zoo director Song Zhi thought everyone would be scared, but after a while:
The fox's enclosure was piled high with offerings. Visitors lined up, and plenty of internet celebrities and young stars prayed fervently, “Please bless me with a new role that makes me a top-tier star overnight.”
Programmers in checked shirts crowded around the long-haired macaque's enclosure, along with a top-tier movie star sneaking in among them. “Divine Monkey, please spit on me.”
The rundown zoo became a popular internet-famous attraction in no time. Netizens from everywhere flocked to make wishes and pray for children. Some even arrived on hospital beds, hooked up to respirators, to make a wish.
Song Zhi watched the monsters, transformed into human form, lounging on the sofa, picking their toes, scrolling on their phones, eating and drinking. Who could have guessed these lazy slobs were monsters capable of granting people's wishes?

P.S. This story has a lot of original worldbuilding. Please don't overthink it.

Antiques Keep Revealing Secrets to Me (my next novel)
Ever since Jiang Xi inherited an old antique shop, she had gained two secrets:
1. She could hear antiques' thoughts.
2. She had received an antique catalog that needed to be filled in.
To complete the antique catalog, Jiang Xi began looking everywhere for antiques and cultural relics.
At the antiques market.
The shopkeeper secretly showed Jiang Xi a small bronze wine cup. “Take a look. This is from the Shang and Zhou dynasties...”
The little wine cup rolled its eyes. “That's right, I'm from last week! That nondescript lump of wood beside me is over two hundred years old.”
Jiang Xi smiled and patted it, then took it and the lump of wood home.
On an antiques appraisal livestream.
A nouveau riche brought out a piece of well-preserved patterned silk that he had bought for a fortune, asking Jiang Xi to appraise it. “They say this was Emperor Kangxi's face towel. It even smells like dragon's breath incense...”
The silk looked utterly disgusted. “Face towel, my ass! I'm a eunuch's ass-wiping cloth. The gray rag you turned down was Emperor Yongzheng's hand towel.”
Jiang Xi looked disgusted and wanted to throw up, but she held it in and bought it while asking where the hand towel was.
On a national antiques appraisal show.
A celebrity brought in a jade pillow passed down through their family for an appraisal. “Legend has it that Empress Wu used this pillow before she married. Teacher, could you help identify it?”
The jade pillow cursed furiously, though in a gentle voice. “You know I'm a precious pillow that Empress Wu used, and yet you make me watch you cheat, hold group sex parties, and take drugs every day. Disgusting! What terrible luck!”
Jiang Xi quietly reported the celebrity and learned from the jade pillow where its good friend, the golden mandarin-duck pillow, was.
After that, Jiang Xi used her ability to understand antiques' thoughts to learn about even more missing artifacts, and worked hard to track down lost antiques and works of art, one by one.
Later, her antique shop became the museum with the most comprehensive collection of cultural relics.
Theme: Crossing mountains and seas to find you.
