Huachao hurries over to help the man dress. His official robe is wide and long. It hangs a little too long on anyone else, but fits him perfectly. Add his regular features and the murderous air in his eyes, and no one dares look directly at him.

The man lets her fuss over him. Looking down, he sees her thick black eyelashes trembling and the rosy corner of her mouth, bitten open. His fingers touch the wound on her lip, then rub her jewel-like earlobe.

Huachao uses the excuse of straightening his belt to evade his touch.

The man looks at his fingertips, still carrying a soft, slick sensation, and sneers before asking gently, "Miss Xie, are you angry? Your big brother didn't come to save you, so you had no choice but to give yourself to me?"

"My family fell into ruin, and I became a courtesan. My lord does not look down on me for sullying him. He keeps me comfortably in the outer courtyard, so I would not dare be angry."
