Run, Mother! Father's Coming!

After Princess Ning discovered that Lady Yue Pingying's child was not Prince Ning's, the prince flew into a rage and confined Yue Pingying to the rear courtyard.

After a heavy snowfall, the temperature plunged, and the rear courtyard grew bitterly cold. There was an elderly gatekeeper, a gravely ill woman, and a frail boy.

As time passed, Yue Pingying gradually grew familiar with everything in the rear courtyard. She discovered that the gatekeeper knew a little martial arts, that the woman knew a little medicine, and that the boy...

One day, Prince Ning suddenly came to the rear courtyard. He found that Yue Pingying seemed a little different from before.

He embraced her, saying that he held no grudge and was willing to raise the child as his own. But the child had to be raised by the princess, and Yue Pingying had to tell him who the child's father really was.

Yue Pingying looked at the man and thought for a very long time. Her parents had arranged this marriage, and the matchmaker had brought them together...

But perhaps none of that had to be.

Early Liu Yanqing: My wife is my whole world. I will never betray her!

Middle Liu Yanqing: My wife... she's only ten years older than me. How can she be my mother?

Late Liu Yanqing: I revere my wife as a god. How could I ever harbor such a filthy thought!

Consumed by greed and a thirst for power, Yue Pingying slowly transformed from a jade-faced Bodhisattva into an iron-faced Asura.
