As a famous beauty at S University whom no one could ever win over, Xu Sinian has been having a hard time lately.

He's got two problems.

First, an upperclassman from the computer science department is pursuing him with every trick in the book. Even after Xu Sinian has coldly turned him down eight hundred times, he still won't give up.

Second, that upperclassman's roommate, Lu Qingchuan, is the person Xu Sinian has had a crush on since high school.

Unfortunately, Lu Qingchuan is as straight as they come and has a strong aversion to gay people, keeping his distance from all of them.

To get rid of all the unwanted attention, Xu Sinian takes his roommate's advice and decides to find a fake boyfriend to fend off the people pursuing him and give himself some peace and quiet.

On the first day he looks for a fake boyfriend, a verification message lights up his WeChat.

Computer Science's Lu Qingchuan: Weren't you looking for a boyfriend? How come all of them are acceptable, but I'm not?

Xu Sinian: Has Lu Qingchuan gone crazy???

Xu Sinian nervously replies: Lu Qingchuan, aren't you straight?

Lu Qingchuan himself is much more relaxed. Leaning lazily against the doorframe, he says, "We're both straight. What's there to be afraid of?"

Pretending to be boyfriends really works. The annoying upperclassman never shows his face around Xu Sinian again.

But Xu Sinian feels guilty and is terrified Lu Qingchuan will discover he really likes men and tear him limb from limb. So he searches Little Red Book late into the night for advice on how to get along with straight men.

The comments are all over the place, but the advice boils down to a few points:

1. Be a little shameless. Chat with him whenever you have a chance and quickly build an emotional connection.

2. Find excuses for casual physical contact, like his fingers, Adam's apple, or chest, and help him get used to your touch.

3. Cater to his interests and compliment him often in the areas where he excels.

Xu Sinian takes it all to heart and quickly puts the advice into practice, trying to do all three at once. But his conversations with Lu Qingchuan start taking a strange turn.

Xu Sinian: Lu Qingchuan, your Adam's apple is so big. It looks really sexy.

Lu Qingchuan: ? If you like it, you can touch it.

Xu Sinian's inner thoughts: You mean I get to do that?

Xu Sinian: Lu Qingchuan, your abs are so well-defined! Your V-line is even more pronounced than our life-drawing model's!

Lu Qingchuan: Come to my place to draw today. I'll be your personal life-drawing model.

Xu Sinian: (¯﹃¯) drooling. Lu Qingchuan is such a great guy!!!

Xu Sinian: Lu Qingchuan, your place is so big, and the decor is so tasteful. You really have amazing taste!

Lu Qingchuan: Move in with me. It'll be easier for you to livestream your drawing.

Xu Sinian: My idol!!! I'll love you forever!!!

In just a few months, his relationship with Lu Qingchuan grows closer and closer, until they're practically sharing a pair of pants. Xu Sinian thinks the internet didn't lie to him. Lu Qingchuan really hasn't figured out that he's gay.

But when Xu Sinian goes with Lu Qingchuan to a club dinner, Lu Qingchuan unexpectedly draws a dare card in a game: [Kiss the person closest to you for at least ten seconds].

Xu Sinian: ! How exciting. But Lu Qingchuan will surely just take three shots to get out of it.

He idly picks at the strawberry cake on the table, never expecting Lu Qingchuan to grab him by the neck and kiss him without hesitation.

The rich cream melts in his mouth, and Xu Sinian's mind goes blank in an instant.

He stares dazedly at Lu Qingchuan's handsome face, his ears red as blood. Straight... straight guys are all this brave? But he's getting a little scared. QAQ

Their fake-dating agreement is about to expire. After thinking it over for a long time, Xu Sinian decides to tell Lu Qingchuan the truth.

To avoid Lu Qingchuan throwing him out of the house, Xu Sinian secretly starts packing his things. But he accidentally discovers the diary Lu Qingchuan has hidden away.

As soon as Xu Sinian closes the diary, he looks up and sees Lu Qingchuan leaning against the doorframe.

There's a carefree smile at the corner of his lips as he drawls, "Xu Sinian, it's about time I got promoted to the real thing."
