Song Ran was notorious throughout the school for being a troublemaker.
She dyed her hair, skipped class, acted like a gang boss, and even had a crush... though it went nowhere.
In her sophomore year of high school, Song Ran pursued Fang Fubai for a whole year, only to finally get a dismissive "Stop messing around" from him.
That year, Song Ran transferred schools with her mother and disappeared from Fang Fubai's life for good.
Her first crush ended without ever beginning.
Two years later, Song Ran got into college and ran into Fang Fubai again at a mixer.
At the time, she didn't connect the handsome guy with broad shoulders, a slim waist, and long legs with Fang Fubai, the mild-mannered model student from high school.
Their eyes met across the room. Song Ran was about to strike up a conversation when, in her excitement, she fell into the arms of a male classmate beside her. Then she watched the handsome guy storm out of sight.
Song Ran, reaching out dramatically: Handsome, don't go!
Later, after realizing the handsome guy was Fang Fubai...
Song Ran: No wonder he looks so good to me. He's the one who got away. π_π
Fang Fubai: Who says you never got me?
-
Fang Fubai had always thought Song Ran's pursuit was an elaborate prank, because he'd heard her tell her friend she was betting she could win him over. The wager was a meal.
So every time Song Ran approached him, Fang Fubai turned her down.
Even after he really started falling for her...
